Chicago Heat Treated or export pallet ( HT pallets) is a wood pallet that has been heated to a minimum core of 56°C (132.8 °F) for at least 30 minutes to kill pests making it safe for export. The wood is then stamped to indicate that the heat treatment has been completed, it is stamped with an official HT stamp . Heat treated pallets are often required in order to comply with international export standards.
